Save Young Lives Foundation Uganda (SYLFU) is a Community based Organization (CBO), youth – led, non-profitable, non-political, non-partisan and non religious organization founded by refugees and nationals to address the social-economic prospects of young refugees and host communities.
Our programming areas are youth, women empowerment, and Advocacy. Our mission is to changing the lives of young people through innovation, education and access to information. And we envision a society in which all young people are safe, are treated with dignity and have equal opportunities to develop. Our programming activities include livelihood trainings, peaceful co-existence, awareness and sensitization, community mobilization, Sexual Reproductive Health information, hygiene and sanitation to adolescents.
With funds sourced out from the founders, Save Young Lives Foundation Uganda was able to create access to Sexual Reproductive Health information and promote hygiene and sanitation to 20 teenage mothers in Eden Zone, fifteen (15) refugees and five (5) from the host communities to enable teen mothers become skillful and ensuring self-reliance.
We are limited by funding, capacity building to our volunteers and operations office space.
We are grateful to our foundation members who through their membership fee, monthly subscription and pledges enabled us to continue with our work in the refugee and host communities. We would be happy to any donors and any partners who work for the same reasons with us at the community levels where problems can be treated and not treating the effects of those problems especially donors or partners supporting livelihood activities, youth and women empowerment.
